1000 Books Before Kindergarten
The Hyrum Library invites you to participate in this free program which encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she starts kindergarten.
Program Overview
Read a Book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your child starts kindergarten.
How to Participate
Keep track of the titles of the books that you read with your child. Make a record of what you are reading in a spiral notebook, on our convenient reading log sheets, online, or by whatever method you want.

· Every 100 books show the front desk your chart and get a sticker. Reach 1,000 and your child will get a reading medal, certificate, and their very own book!
· You can count any book read to your child (yes, Story time counts).
· If you read a book to more than one child you can count that book for each child you read it to.
· The Program is self paced, go as fast or as slow as you want.
· Any child from birth until they enter kindergarten can participate.
· You may repeat books.
